A good website has an appealing and relevent design that isn’t too cluttered. The most important info should be on the first page and unless it’s a huge site there shouldn’t be a bunch of random pages. I also hate having to scroll down for a really long time. If it’s that long, just make a new page. It’s not that freakin hard.
Also irrelevant gifs and images are a pain. Please keep the graphics and images relevent. But images or little symbols are also really good right next to text on a menu to symbolize something because it makes finding something easier.
But overall just keep the text well-organized and put things where it makes sense and the website will look a lot cleaner.
Now onto two websites I like. It’s a little difficult to think of two off the top of my head that I like because I’m more of a negative person, so these aren’t the best examples I could give… there is a lot I don’t like about them too.
The first website is good because it’s clean and simple. It’s for someone trying to get herself out there so I like the use of a slide show on the right because they used it pretty well and it isn’t an eyesore. They keep it to one style and it’s not overwhelming. You can find what you want fairly easily. But the hosting page has a video that starts up automatically and audio that starts up without my say really gets on my nerves. Her about page also just doesn’t use part of the bottom of the page for scrolling and I have no idea why. But I do like her easy contact page that lets you messages you right there in the email.
I can’t exactly think of a second one right now. Maybe I’ll get back to that.

agreed. I think that graphics and images are an important factor. However, when they are put with no relevance to the content of the website it becomes distracting and annoying.
clean and simple webpages are the best because everything is easy to find and you dont have to waste so much time trying to find the content you want
